OUR TREADMILL

Engineered with safety as priority

The treadmill is designed to be self-powered based on the weight of each dog and the speed of their movement. This self-powered technology also means if the dog stops, so will the machine. It usually takes a few minutes for the dog to understand the mechanism and familiarize themselves with the equipment and begin the workout.

How it works

  • Intro to treadmill

We begin with introducing the dog to the treadmill for him/her to feel comfortable and get familiar with the equipment. Positive reinforcement, such as treats and toys, will encourage the dog to begin walking. Once the dog is moving comfortably, we gradually increase the incline of the treadmill to help pick up momentum. All dogs are secured in a harness which is secured to the treadmill for safety.

  • Workout

As the dog understands the mechanism of the treadmill, positive reinforcement from the trainer will enable the workout to begin. Depending on the level of vigor of the workout, sprints will be mixed in between jogs. Studies have proven positive benefits to cardiac health in canines with frequent exercise. So we’re working on getting that heart rate up in a limited space with the treadmill.

  • Cool down

Taking a few minutes to gradually transition into a slower pace on the treadmill. Depending on the location of the session, whether it is outdoors or indoors, we take the time to cool down and steady the heart rate. We will have water ready to keep the dog hydrated and review some basic commands and take the dog to relieve themselves before bringing them back to you.

Building a frequent exercise routine for your pup will improve their overall health and wellness.
